After leaving the Freycinet Peninsula I drove to Hobart and stayed in the Adelphi Court YHA, which had a real 1950s feel about it.
The next day I drove to the former convict settlement at Port Arthur. This was an incredible place which, if it wasn`t for the odd penitentiary, asylum, isolation cell and dark history, would make a the perfect setting for a Miss Marple book. Much of it was like a chocolate box English village.
After my far-too-short-but-well-worth-it trip to Tasmania, I flew to Melbourne.
Back to the Freycinet Peninsula. On to Melbourne.
