After my cream tea I made my way down the east coast to Coles Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula. There I stayed at the Iluka Backpackers YHA which was pretty basic, but friendly and in an unbeatable location (pictures 3 to 7 are taken from immediately across the road). I also saw the amazing Chickenfeed advert on telly while I was there. "Chickunfoooiid". Brilliant.
The following morning I walked to Wineglass Bay in Freycinet National Park, where I was transfixed by the view for a fair old bit. Wandering back down the track I saw a brave little echidna. I then drove up to Cape Tourville lighthouse for more impressive views and to be called Brad Pitt without prompting.
After that I went back to the shop by the YHA to pick up my lunch, which I had forgotten, and then reluctantly left the Freycinet Peninsula to make for Hobart.
Back to Cataract Gorge and the North. On to Port Arthur.
