After two weeks in Sydney, I flew to Launceston in Tasmania where I hired a car and took a lightning tour down the east coast to Hobart. Tasmania deserves much longer. I want to go back.
On the first afternoon I walked up to Cataract Gorge, 10 minutes from the centre of Launceston. I stayed in the Metro Backpackers YHA, and had excellent liver and bacon and Boag`s Premium in the Royal Oak next door. I recommend both the hostel and the pub.
The following morning I drove east along the Tasman Highway, stopping along the way to admire the amazing scenery, St. Columba Falls and a cream tea at the Holy Cow Cafe.

Back to Sydney. On to the east coast of Tasmania.
