At the end of the first week I joined Sam and some of the girls from his German class at a retreat north-west of the Blue Mountains. Called Rootreat, it is a rustic 19th century cottage set in breathtaking scenery. There we spent the weekend totally vegging out, being very well fed, speaking (mostly) in German and enjoying the views.

We stopped at the famous Three Sisters on the way back to Sydney (which is not a pub although it sounds as if it is).
